Put a talanted group of people like Bruce Rossmeyer and his Destination Daytona staff, Mickey Lauria and his Total Performance staff, and the Right Coast Association together to promote a cruise-in....add in the perfect location - Destination Daytona, and a perfect clear sunny Florida day and how can you loose?

That was indeed the formula for success, as over 400 rods, customs and special vehicles were on hand for the inaugural Destination Daytona cruise event on May 20th, 2006. Food was available, as were drinks of all types, and several large tents were set up to provide some relief from the Florida sun. Door prizes were plentiful and rock ‘n roll blared from the speakers.

The “World’s Largest Harley Store” was also open for business, and if you have not seen this mega sized, two-story facility....that in itself is worth the trip. It is part museum, part Harley store, and totally mind-boggling.

The Destination Daytona Cruise will be a monthly affair, scheduled for the third Saturday of each month. However, the “perfect clear sunny Florida day” will be a thing of the past, as future events will be held from 6:00-9:00pm. That included the follow-up event on June 17th, which was even better than the very successful inaugural event. Some tweaking, plus moving the event to an evening format made the cruise another big success.

Restaurants and specialty food shops again served an array of food and drinks, door prizes were plentiful, and a DJ stayed busy spinning the rock ‘n roll classics. And don’t forget, Total Performance, Inc., home of the T-Bucket kit and other street rod related kits, cars and parts will be opening a facility at Destination Daytona in October of this year.

Located just off I-95, at the Ormond Beach exit, Destination Daytona is easily accessible from central and eastern Florida. And while some of the facility is still under construction, the completed facilities are perfect for a cruise-in. When completed Destination Daytona will be even bigger and better, with even more to see and do on a Saturday evening....especially the third Saturday of the month, when the fun begins at 6:00pm!
