Dunkin’ Donuts has built quite a reputation for tasty treats, including delicious donuts, plus an array of specialty coffee drinks over more recent years. So how do you make something already so delicious even more sweet? Add some cool classic cars painted a variety of eye-popping colors with lots of chrome and polish to tempt the eyes, of course! Such was the combination on Sunday, May 25th, 2008, at the Dunkin’ Donuts Open Car Show at the location located at 16737 U.S. Highway 19 in Hudson, Florida.

Things kicked off with registration from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. The show was open to all makes, models and years of vehicles, and a wide variety of about 60 vehicles did indeed turn out for some fun on the warm, sunny day. In return one of the things Dunkin Donuts offered was a 20% discount on participant’s food and drink purchases, plus free donuts, coffee and complimentary T-Shirts. At various times during the day they also offered samples of other menu items. There were also dash plaques, door prizes, music and a 50/50 drawing to help sweeten the day. On the trophy side of things there was a Top 30, plus Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Interior, Dunkin’ Donuts Choice, and a Best Of Show given away by about 2:00pm.

Larry and Barb Pettigrew headed up the show, and did a great job ensuring everyone had fun. All in all it was a great way to spend the day, with lots of cool cars to ogle over, and plenty of food to tempt the tummy. CN
