The “Jammin’ To Jacksonville” tours had nine different starting points, with four of them originating in Florida, two from Georgia, one from South Carolina, one from North Carolina, and one from the previous Goodguys event in Hershey, Pennsylvania. They all ended at the Jax Custom & Street Rod Shop 1st Annual Kick-Off Party, held on Thursday, May 26th, with 124 cars and their passengers showing up. Doyle and Sherry Newsome, the owners of Jax Custom & Street Rod Shop, fed everyone a free lunch. It included all the trimmings like potato salad and baked beans, 300 hamburgers and hot dogs, 12 “drunken chickens” - which is a chicken cooked sitting on an open can of beer...which not only tenderizes the meat, but also gives it a nice flavor (Doyle joked that when the chicken falls over....you know it’s done!). Thanks guys!
