story and photos by Vivian Senior Moroso Motorsports Park’s semi-annual Hot Rod Sunday has become a fixture in the South Florida show scene, and the latest was held on February 8th in Palm Beach Gardens. There were 175 registered vehicles in the Show-n-Shine, and it was a perfect day for the races and car show thanks to the cool yet sunny weather. Polo shirts and plaques were handed out to the 30+ specialty award winners at about 3:30 pm. When not oogling the show cars everyone was checking out the car corral, Manufacturers’ restoration parts, and swap meet - with many people spotted toting away their new found treasures. And of course as with any event at Moroso there was lots of drag racing action too. There was a Gambler’s Race for Super Pro, Pro, Pro Bike and Street Bike, it was a points race for Quick 16, various test and tune vehicles, and nostalgia dragsters to entertain the crowd. All of this could be viewed from the new grandstands, with other various improvements finished as well.
