The 2nd Annual J.W. Performance Show and Shine was held at the J.W. Performance Transmissions corporate facility in Rockledge, Florida on July 12th. It was again organized by Alan Kitchen and his better half, Carol Brown. Alan is a J.W. employee who you will see at every NHRA WCS meet as he drives the hauler which supports the racers. The long hours of effort really showed as there were vehicles from every area of the automotive hobby, from blown dragsters to street cruisers.
The weather could have put a real damper on the event as the tropical activity was causing rain all around Rockledge, and it did drizzle a couple of times. I wussed out and didnt bring anything to the show, choosing to ride over with John Smith, also from Merritt Island, in his 39 Ford Sedan instead.
Still, even with the threat of rain over 100 beautiful vehicles were on hand. The sponsors were very generous, providing some great door prizes as well as the class winner trophies. They even had prizes for some of the participants who didnt win their respective class (all voting for the winners was done by the registered entrants) but could have. Alan and J.W. Performance should be complimented on this varied selection of motor madness, and everyone went home with a smile on their face, and thoughts of next years show on the horizon. CN
