I'm not sure of the year we got the new body mounted, but this picture couldn't have been too long afterwards. Possibly '93 or '94. It is a Katana body, and some other changes were made (notice the billet front wheel)....but basically it was the same exact motor. I'd run consistent 10.20's at Bandimere Speedway in Colorado - which is at high altitude. At sea level it runs 9.70's.

I came from behind at the end of the year and won the last event to tie for first in the season points standings. The whole night the track guys were announcing that if I could pull it off, then the season championship would come down to a run-off between me and the guy I tied with. Well, once I pulled it off the other guy made it clear he didn't want a run-off (which would have been held the next weekend). Anyway, I got jipped out of my consecutive championships by the track owner, who I think basically gave the other guy the title because I had won it the year before. Though the next week me and the guy did wind up racing each other in eliminations....and I won. It wasn't an "official" run-off, but everyone there knew I basically just won the track title again. I do still have this bike, though with the time it takes to produce the magazine I haven't raced it in quite a while.
