The 1963 Shelby Cobra named “DragonSnake” was among the most highly anticipated vehicles to cross the block going into the Mecum Kissimmee Auction, and it sold for a whopping $875,000. Powered by a 289 engine, it was the winningest Cobra in history, won 7 NHRA National events with Bruce Larson or Ed Hendrick driving, including the 1966 NHRA Word Championship while owned and driven by Hendrick. There were 6 factory and independently prepared DragonSnakes, but this one has the undisputed best winning record. The magenta metal flake paint was really pretty, too!
