In 1972 Dale Pulde won Funny Car with Mickey Thompson’s Ford Pinto at the AHRA Winternationals, which was held at Scottsdale, Arizona’s Beeline Dragway. The car was also a finalist at the NHRA Winternationals and IHRA Winternationals in 1972. The Pinto was powered by a blown, nitro burning, Chrysler Hemi, tuned by Steve Montrelli.
