Don “The Snake” Prudhomme (left) and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen check out their new “Hot Wheel’s” Top Fuel Dragsters prior to the 1971 drag racing season. The unique bodies on these cars were made as you see them to allow their sponsor Mattel to produce “Hot Wheel’s” that looked as much as possible like the real race cars. Reportedly, Prudhomme never cared for the body work.
