Richie Zul's Pro Stock Camaro

Here is the car that radically changed the face of Pro Stock. In 1972 Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins debuted this small block Chevy powered Vega, the first tube frame equipped Pro Stocker. This light weight small block Chevy Vega ended the domination of Pro Stock that Chrysler Corporation had enjoyed with their heavier, more powerful Hemi cars. Jenkins reportedly pocketed over two hundred thousand dollars in prize money with this car in 1972. Note the chassis twist shown in the photo.
