Jim Dunn Rear Engine Funny Car - 1972

No, it is not a space alien. It is “Big” Jim Dunn with what is without a doubt the most successful Rear Engine AA/Funny Car of all time. In 1972, Dunn took the car on a summer “tour” for his vacation from the Fire Station where he worked. His summer vacation became the subject of the movie “Funny Car Summer”, which is a drag racing cult classic today. Dunn is best known today as the tuner of his Tony Bartone driven NHRA Funny Car, and as the father of NHRA television commentator Mike Dunn.
