On Saturday, November 17th, 2007, the grounds of the Calvary Assembly of Orlando in Winter Park was the location of the 2nd Annual Russell Home Benefit Custom Car Show presented by Pro Street Customs, Inc. Chilly breezes and clear skies greeted the participants as they registered their vehicles, and coffee and doughnuts were available to take away the morning chill. Registration was from 8:00 to 11:00am, and dash plaques were given out. While participants were shining up their rides, spectators could visit the vendor’s displays and kids could participate in several kid’s events including face painting and Hot Wheels racing. The grill was fired up around lunchtime, serving hot dogs and hamburgers. Potato chips, snow cones, kettle corn, sodas and bottle waters were also offered for sale. The afternoon warmed up nicely as the clear skies grew partly cloudy, and DJ Bob Yost kept us entertained with our favorite car show tunes. A raffle took place, with items such as a classic creeper, shop stool and pneumatic roller seat, an iTune portable docking station for an iPod, and gift certificates valued at $300 from dentist Robert H. Foster. Door prizes were given away, and a 50/50 drawing was held, with $55 going to the winner.

The trophy presentation took place after 2:00pm, and the winners received their award plaques. The trophy agenda was divided into about 15 categories, and they included Best of Show, People’s Choice, Pastor’s Choice, Best Custom, Pro Street, Street Rod, Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Convertible, Most Radical Engine, Best Original Classic, Oldest Classic, Best Truck, Best Import, and Kid’s Choice.

The 2nd Annual Russell Home Benefit Custom Car Show was a great success, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Russell Home for Atypical Children.
