When Art Py purchased his 1968 Dodge Coronet 500 convertible in 1979 it was rusted and worn out. He decided to send it out for a frame on restoration in 1982, and at the Toys For Kids show in 2008 it took Outstanding Mopar honors. It has the original 318 motor with an automatic transmission, and power steering. The car is driven back and forth between Ocala, Florida and Antioch, Illinois, as he spends 6 months a year in each. When Art purchased the car it had 67,000 miles. A valve job was done when she reached 100,000 miles, and right now the odometer reads 249,800 miles and is still running strong. We were told that only about 2,300 Coronet 500 convertibles were made in ‘68, and less than 50 or so remain.
